Sean Kelly APR, FCPRS will detail how Canadian offshore regulators dealt with intense public scrutiny following the BP blowout in the Gulf of Mexico. 2011 Lou Cahill Scholarship Winner Announced

Bailey Barbary, Toronto, Ontario, is the 2011 winner of the Lou Cahill Scholarship in Communications awarded by Brock University, St. Catharines. The Scholarship is awarded to a communications student in the final year of study for academic excellence, community involvement and participation in charitable activities.

Bill Morrissey Kicks Off New Season of CPRS Manitoba Luncheons

CPRS Manitoba kicked off its 2010-11 season of monthly luncheons with Yes! Winnipeg’s Bill Morrissey. Held at the Fort Garry Hotel on September 22, Morrissey spoke to approximately two-dozen CPRS members about his role with this “results focused initiative”, designed to “promote, support and expedite successful business development in Winnipeg.”

2010 Torchia Scholarship Winner Announced

Denissa-Jalal St-Laurent, Victoria, British Columbia, is the winner of the fourth Torchia Scholarship in Public Relations/ Communications, awarded by the Communications + Public Relations Foundation. The $1,500 annual Scholarship was established to recognize a student who best exemplifies the spirit and practice of bilingualism in the Canadian communications and public relations profession.
