CPRS Manitoba Scholarships

CPRS Manitoba offers two $500 scholarships to outstanding students in full-time public relations programs in the province who are CPRS members. CPRS Manitoba developed the awards to recognize the highest academic achievement in each program, and to assist students as they make the transition to a career public relations. Currently, CPRS Manitoba offers scholarships in the following two programs:

Red River College, Creative Communications
PR Major

This scholarship is presented annually by CPRS Manitoba to a second-year Creative Communications student and PR major who is also a CPRS Manitoba student member. The scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest overall academic achievement in PR. Congratulations to Mackayla Essery, the 2021 scholarship recipient!

The University of Winnipeg, Continuing Education
Public Relations, Marketing and Strategic Communications Management Diploma (full-time)

This annual scholarship is presented by CPRS Manitoba to the University of Winnipeg student who achieves the highest mark in PR in the Professional, Applied and Continuing Education (PACE) program at The University of Winnipeg. Congratulations to Sarah Campbell our 2021 Scholarship recipient!

External Scholarships

Torchia Scholarship

The Torchia Scholarship is a national $1,500 scholarship awarded annually to the student who best exemplifies the spirit and practice of bilingualism in the Canadian communications and public relations profession. This scholarship is only available to a student who:

  • Is in a program that is two years or longer in duration, and;
  • Has chosen to study public relations/communications in one of Canada’s two official languages that is not his/her first language or mother tongue, and;
  • Is entering his/her second year of undergraduate study in public relations/communications at a Canadian university or college in either a degree program or a multi-year diploma or certificate program that meets recognized standards of education every September.

The Torchia Scholarship scholarship is valid for one year only.

Awards

CPRS/CNW Student Award of Excellence

Established jointly by CPRS National and CNW, this award recognizes student excellence in the PR field. Eligible students must be currently enrolled in their final year (or equivalent) of a recognized, full-time PR program, instructed in a Canadian post-secondary institute. Students must be studying at an undergraduate, diploma or certificate level. Learn more.
