John White to talk revitalizing the Winnipeg Free Press at CPRS’ October luncheon

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
News Café revitalizes the Winnipeg Free Press

Speaker: John White, Deputy Editor Online
Topic: Winnipeg Free Press, Winnipeg Free Press News Café

The ghosts of Winnipeg’s former newspaper row are again calling out the day’s headlines. The Winnipeg Free Press has returned to the city’s historic Exchange District — this time serving itself up as a café.

Beyond tasty sandwiches and salads, the Winnipeg Free Press News Café positioned itself as earnest community member, event host, social media facilitator and a place for discussion, debate and idea sharing. Soon after that, it started making headlines around the world.

The News Café has also won the accolades of both foodies and the information-hungry alike. At our October 19 CPRS Manitoba luncheon, join Free Press Deputy Editor Online, John White as he talks about the genesis, objectives and goals of the café, and gives us a taste of the future.
