CPRS Manitoba is hosting their first luncheon of 2011 on Wednesday, January 26th.
Our guest speaker is Scott Brown, Director, Corporate Communications & Hockey Operations, Manitoba Moose.
His talk will explore the fascinating and unique world of communications and media relations in sports, particularly that of the Manitoba Moose.
SCOTT BROWN, Director of Corporate Communications & Hockey Operations, Manitoba Moose handles the communications and media relations for the Manitoba Moose and is responsible for the Hockey Operations at the club. Brown is also responsible for any media or public inquiries on a day-to-day basis regarding the hockey club as well as True North Sports & Entertainment Limited, MTS Centre and MTS Iceplex.
In his talk to the Manitoba Chapter of CPRS he will address the unique world of public relations in the world of sports and entertainment; in terms of relationships with the beat writers who cover the team and facility on a day-to-day basis, as well as the challenges of satisfying the needs of the media while at the same time protecting the interests of True North Sports & Entertainment and the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club.
As the Director of Corporate Communications for one of the city’s highest profile companies as well as it’s only pro hockey team, he will also address the daily differences between interacting with the sports media and the news media and how the two very different worlds can be handled in a similar fashion.
