Shirley Muir loves Halloween and promises to fill our heads with public relations horror stories highlighting the good, the bad and the ugly in some real life examples in crisis communications. Having spent half of her career as a journalist specializing in crime and courts she’s very familiar with the gruesome side of our city. Her career in public relations has created a strong reputation helping clients in trouble find their way out with her witch’s charm of “communicate early and often.”
Shirley is President of the PRHouse; has taught both public relations and journalism in Creative Communications at RRC; has worked as a reporter, editor, producer for the Winnipeg Free Press, Winnnipeg Sun, CBC TV, CBC Radio and WTN. She was Executive Director of the WTN Foundation before going to work for the City of Winnipeg as its Public Affairs Manager under Mayor Glen Murray. She has received numerous awards for her volunteer work in the field of women’s and Aboriginal issues.
NOTE: Muir has presents for top best dressed for Halloween. She promises to be in costume, so don’t be shy.
