CPRS Manitoba April luncheon: Assiniboine Park Conservancy’s capital campaign

Imagine a Place: A Vision for the Future of Assiniboine Park & Zoo

Speaker: Lorne Perrin, Vice-President of Marketing and Park Services, Assiniboine Park Conservancy
Topic: Capital campaigns

For more than 100 years, Assiniboine Park has been the jewel in the crown of Winnipeg’s regional park system. Designed in the style of Central Park in New York City, Assiniboine Park has offered a range of activities and services for thousands of Winnipeggers.

In 2009, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy launched a $200 million redevelopment plan to revitalize Assiniboine Park and Zoo. From new playgrounds and services for families to a redeveloped zoo, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy is imagining a place for all Winnipeggers to come together and relax, play, connect with nature, and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

During his presentation, Lorne Perrin will overview the management/development model for Assiniboine Park and Zoo, provide an update on the capital campaign and give a progress report on completed projects as well as upcoming initiatives that will bring a new face to the park.

Lorne Perrin has more than thirty years of experience in tourism and hospitality, having held positions with a national airline, convention centre and local and national hotel chains.
